Stowe

We finally got rid of that nasty heat wave that was plaguing us, so once we could do something other than swim, we ventured up to Stowe on Sunday to spend the day along the bike path. On our ride we made stops for swimming/rock throwing in the river, farmer's market, and ended with a delicious Mexican meal at Frida's followed by an ice cream cone at Stowe Scoop Shop.

And we're off

Frida's Mexican Cantina, the best mex restaurant in VT!

We discovered Will's love of guacamole, he was not willing to share!

This is the best thing I have ever eaten!

Camping

We had our summer kick off camping trip this past weekend, a little soggy but we did manage to get in some swimming and campfire time in between rains!

Cousins!

We had a grrrrrreat trip to Nebraska to visit Nana and Papa. Trav played with his cousins from sun up til' sun down. I wish I had a picture of all 12 of them together, but that's another story. Highlights included a trip to the Fun-Plex, Sprayground, Smore Roasting, and while I don't have a good picture of it there were a lot of costume changes going on and just good cousin fun! William on the other hand was frightened of everyone and everything and mainly just sucked his thumb while making sure his mother and/or father were in eye sight of his location at all times.

Farm's Open

The ole favorite in our household...Shelburne Farms is open for the season. Travis couldn't wait to show William around the farm so we ventured out on Saturday to take in a tractor ride, some cow milkin', chicken catchin' and of course cheese samples, moooo. We even bought some fresh eggs too, yum-o. Bring on the summer fun!!!

Almost Summer

It appears to be somewhat forward trajectory towards summer here in Vermont. This weekend we had a rash of good weather, and headed out to the Hinesburg Touch-a-Truck festival. Mostly we just chased after Will, but when we were able to contain him for more than 2 seconds there was face painting, lots of trucks to climb in and steer, friends galore, playground...lots of fun. There was even a helicopter that landed and then all the kiddos got to pretend to be pilots. Most exciting is we got the first cremees of the season (for everyone except Vermonters it is just soft serve ice cream, but for some reason VTers call them Cremees).

This is just too funny not to share...William has started communicating with us and of course his first "word" is NO.
